Among these , the first item listed are merchandise export and import,to which we have just referred.Examples of merchandise export are the sale of a u.s.computer system to a British firm or the sale of u.s.grain to Russia. Purchase of Japanese cars, German cameras, or Honduran bananas by u.s.residents are examples of u.s.import.
